The competition, jointly initiated by the International Energy Storage Alliance and the Zhongguancun Energy Storage Industry Technology Alliance, has gained immense credibility and authority within China's energy storage industry since its inception in 2017. Over seven consecutive years, it has garnered widespread attention from industry insiders and outsiders. Independent Innovation Drives Development
In recent years, with the gradual access of new power generation equipment, the inertia of power grid system has continued to decrease, and the supporting ability of active power has become weaker and weaker. In serious cases, it will cause frequency instability and trigger a number of large-scale power outages. In this context, JD Energy independently developed a grid-based energy storage product based on string PCS, with a new three-level grid topology, station-level black start voltage setting, voltage secondary recovery, grid-connected and off-grid switching, and precise array power distribution. It also has array-level black start logic, VSG grid control, precise module current distribution, virtual impedance and device-level precise collection and response. In this way, it can achieve synchronous grid-connection of thousands of PCSs and power stations with a power of more than 100 megawatts and stable reconstructing voltage, frequency and power angle, thus effectively solving the inertia problem of new power system from a technical level, and comprehensively improving the new power system stability.
Through professional defenses, multiple rounds of competition, and expert evaluations, JD Energy's "grid-forming energy storage system based on string-level PCS" shone brightly, earning it a spot among the "2024 Top 10 Energy Storage Technology Innovation Models." This pioneering technology is currently integrated into two products, eBlock-418 and eBlock-836, serving as their "trump card."
