Recently, the Chiwan energy storage demonstration project invested by Zhongkai New Energy and delivered by JD Energy was successfully put into operation. With a total installed capacity of 14.88MW/59.60MWh, the project is so far the largest single-unit distributed modular energy storage project on the user side in Guangdong Province. It is also the first energy storage project of China Nanshan Group. After the project is put into operation, it will become one of the benchmark projects for the green transformation of industry and commerce in Guangdong Province and even China.
To celebrate this important milestone, a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the project operation was held on March 6, 2024. In a festive and peaceful atmosphere, the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the operation of Chiwan energy storage demonstration project was grandly opened. Shu Qian, Party Committee Member of China Nanshan Group, General Manager of Nanshan Holdings and Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Nuclear Energy Technology, delivered the first speech. He said that the development of new energy business was an important measure for China Nanshan Group to implement the national strategy of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and vigorously open up new business track and growth space. At present and in the future, China Nanshan Group will actively promote strategic transformation and continue to write a new chapter of high-quality development in the new era.
Zhang Lei, Executive Director and General Manager of Zhongkai New Energy, mentioned that Zhongkai New Energy, as the core entity of China Nanshan Group's industrial and commercial energy storage investment, took the lead in investing in and building the largest modular industrial and commercial energy storage power station in Guangdong Province in the Chiwan area. During the project construction, through the joint effort with JD Energy and CEEC East China Institute, it took only 35 days from construction to operation, creating a miracle in the construction of large-scale industrial and commercial power stations.
Liu Weizeng, Founder and Chairman of JD Energy, was invited to deliver a speech. Driven by the joint promotion of dual carbon goal and energy security need, the new energy development in China has entered a period of rapid growth, and the energy storage industry has also met unprecedented development opportunities. Efficient delivery shows JD Energy speed
It took JD Energy only 35 days from project construction to grid connection and operation, and the delivery speed was far ahead of the entire industry.
During the project construction, the JD Energy delivery team relied on its rich practical experience and strong technical capability to work together efficiently and exerted its iron army spirit to fully ensure equipment supply, project quality, construction schedule and other mission objectives. Finally, high-standard construction and high-level delivery were achieved, once again demonstrating JD Energy speed.
In the future, the project will help companies save electricity costs based on Guangdong Province's peak-valley electricity price policy, and serve as a backup power source for corporate production, enabling electricity to be available on demand and ensuring stable production. At the same time, it will help companies achieve energy conservation and carbon reduction and green transformation.

Empowerment by technology creates an industry model
As another benchmark project of JD Energy, the construction scale is 14.88MW/59.60MWh, with 10kv high voltage access. The project is divided into four arrays, using independent energy storage module technology, with a total of 80 eBlock-745 products deployed. After the project is connected to the grid and put into operation, it is expected to help enterprises shave peak load with an annual discharge of approximately 20 million kWh.
In addition, the construction of this project will help build a low-carbon ecology and alleviate the contradiction between electricity supply and demand. It will also provide stable electricity support for the entire Chiwan area and promote the consumption and optimal allocation of renewable energy, thereby achieving a win-win situation in economic and social benefits.
The energy road is long and arduous. Industrial and commercial energy storage is both an opportunity and a challenge!
