According to International Energy Agency's definition of different stages of low-carbon transformation, China's VRE power generation accounts for 13.9%, falling into the third stage of low-carbon transformation. The obvious feature of this stage is that it is difficult to further increase the penetration rate of VRE on the basis of optimizing the original power system. At this time, it is necessary to use energy storage to improve the carrying capacity and safety of power grid and provide a more solid backing for the development of clean energy.
Under the guidance of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and energy security goals, China's renewable energy has entered a new development stage of large-scale, high-proportion, market-oriented and high-quality development.
